North American Strawberry Growers Association this December

We will be attending the annual meeting of the North American Strawberry Growers Association this December in Grand Rapids, MI. This years meeting is held a day before the Great Lakes Expo. This is a really good agricultural show for experienced growers.

AC Wendy (Plant Pat. 18,340) Strawberry continues to look impressive with its early start and ability to hold its size. Only growers with the ability to frost protect should grow this berry as it is a sitting duck for frosty nights.

Welcome to the website for Krohne Plant Farms, Inc. . Our family has been involved in agriculture, in the fruit belt of SW Michigan, since 1894. Our location is within eleven miles of Lake Michigan, which provides us with milder winter temperatures as well as cooler summer temperatures. This is why our area can grow such a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. It is also why this has been such an important area for the production of quality nursery stock.
We have devoted our time and energy to the production of strawberry and asparagus plants since the mid-1970’s. Our sandy soils allow for the development and retention of the fine root systems of these crops.

We welcome you to visit our nursery if you are in our area. We are located eleven miles East of I-94, off Exit 30. If you have a farm market and are in need of fresh produce from asparagus to zucchini, it can usually be found within a few miles of our farm.
